Day 1

Akron, OH

Sunday, February 26

Wow, it’s been three years since our last tour. I’ve been getting some requests to bring back the tour blog so I’ll give it my best shot as a tribute to Brian’s blog.

After two years of COVID prohibiting the infamous G-Men tour, we’re back and we’re going straight East! We had a bit of a later start to tour since we competed in ICCA on Saturday (and won). More to come on the ICCA W later n social media (@Leo), but we took off on Sunday morning. We rendezvoused at a Starbucks parking lot to split some snacks from Ian’s mom (thank you omg there’s so many) and started on our way.

The East coast was a little too far for a one-day drive, so we took a quick stop in Akron Ohio where Derek’s dad graciously allowed us to stay. On our drive down Max, Owen, and Leo hit up a taco truck, and I’ve heard rumors of Ryan dancing in a taco bell (sadly I don’t have any photos of that). Once we got to Akron, most of the guys hit up a local bowling alley and all I can say is I’m glad we’re a soccer team and not a bowling team.

Tiger reintroduced a pushing game to the group that we played three years ago that involves only hand-to-hand contact where the goal is to get the other person to take a step while you don’t. As you can see, Derek dethroned him to win the championship in a best of 3. We were also treated to a wonderful presentation by Brett + Ryan (Bryan) about the goofiness levels of each f the G’s. The night ended with a group watch of the new “Lasties” (The Last of Us) episode.

Our next stop is Conneticut with a brief trip to New York City! I want to say thank you to all the G-Men family and alumns that have supported us this year. We’re still trying to restart everything in a post-pandemic world and tour has been a vital part of my G-Men experience that has been missing for a lot of the newer guys. I’m genuinely so excited for this trip and for us to make some lifelong memories and strengthen our G-Men bonds.
