Day 3

Washington D.C.

February 26, 2024

It’s a beautiful day to be a G-Man. Woke up and grabbed some grub at Ms. Shirleys - Leo ordered a single grapefruit, and everone else consumed some world famous pancakes. Guy Fieri approved. One more big thank you to the Chimes for hosting us, y'all were awesome and it was crazy how similar our vibes were. Total chillers. Next stop, Washington D.C.!

After arriving in DC, many of the G-Men split up to complete their own side quests. Owen and I did a DC speed run, trying to see as much as possible - Washington Monument, Natural History Museum, Air and Space Museum, the International Spy Museum, Shake Shack, Thomas Jefferson Memorial (from afar), and the WWII Memorial. (Pick the odd one out.) Still can’t feel my legs. See below for some cool photos of Owen modelling - legend has it he saved Hong Kong with his elite venting ability. Trying my hardest to avoid the Among Us references.

Meanwhile, Frank and Chirp got out and tried to see the White House - they were so excited that on the drive down, they would exclaim “Hey look, it’s the White House” at every single white house we passed. When they actually go there, it turned out that it was locked down to the point where they could barely even see it, leading them to question once again if every white building was the White House. Then they got some ice cream and went to the Washington Monument and looked down the mall. They stopped by the Capitol and had a good, in depth discussion of economic policy (riveting, I know).

Meanwhile, Ryan, Brett, and the rest of the freshman went to go see the United States Botanical Garden, and then dropped by the Capitol and the Supreme Court where they reconvened with Frank and Chirp. After failing to collect more Pokémon, they got some gyros from a random food truck (8/10 rating) and then stopped in the Natural History Museum before heading out. Andrew also loved taking photos of the little birdies in D.C. so I threw one of those in there too.

After a lengthy 5.5 hour drive, we arrived at our awesome BnB in OBX and hit some late night hot tub… will check in with y’all tomorrow with some beach activities!
