DAY 1

Cincinatti, OH

Friday, February 28

The first day of tour took us from Ann Arbor to Cincinnati, a 4 hour drive accompanied by a 45 minute delay at Popeyes waiting for the chicken sandwiches to come out. Now, as someone who was born in Louisiana, I’m proud of Popeyes’ entry into the chicken sandwich market and there is a group consensus that Popeyes’ sandwich is superior to its competitors. However, I don’t think I’ve ever waited less than 20 minutes to get my order, so maybe they can borrow some of Chick-fil-A’s “southern hospitality”.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the Acabellas, an all-female a cappella group at Xavier University. All I can say is wow, what a fun group to be around! The night was full of singing, dance moves that should only be seen on a Thursday night at Ricks and disappointing finishes in Mario Kart.

The beauty of a cappella is sharing your music anywhere and anytime, which we took full advantage of. We kicked it off with the debut of David soloing “Under The Bridge” (which he absolutely killed). The Acabelles then broke out their rendition of “She Used To Be Mine” from Waitress while the Harmonics, Xavier’s all-male a cappella group, performed the swanky Billy Joel classic “For The Longest Time”.

To all of the G-Men alums, our families and our friends, thank you for supporting us and allowing us to take such an awesome trip together and make memories that will last a lifetime. Or at least until tomorrow.
